The food here is some of the best that I've had in a long time. Everything is homemade. Waitstaff are wonderful. Resturaunt has a cozy/ family feel.
I door dashed them the other day and the food was sooo good that I had to come over and check it out in person. I had previously ordered their chicken and Waffles and grits. Bot only was everything packaged well, they included all condiments without my having to ask for anything. Their fried chicken skin was crispy and flavorful whilst the meat of the chicken was perfectly cooked and moist. The waffle delicious and the grits were a great big portion and hit the spot. Today I decided to try their beef ribs with their baked Mac and cheese and Lil Gwen's Candied Yams. I love the nonsense decor. I find it cool that it's homed inside of a truck stop which makes for excellent people watching. They offer all day breakfast as well as nice variety on the menu. Beef Rib humongous and delicious. The yams spot on seasoned amazingly not overboard perfect balance. The baked macaroni and cheese was the VIP. These guys are a true taste of downhome soul food off the beaten path. I will definitely be back. The service was fast and friendly and efficient.

The food is delicious especially the dressing and turkey. Perfectly seasoned and fresh. Reminds me of Sunday dinner when I was young.
Today I had the pleasure of discovering Lizzie kitcken is a family owned and operared restaurant located in lower Albany the place was cozy friendly family oriented the service was impacable i try their baked turkey wing they were mosit ed and tender fall of the bone candy yams were figerlunkcing collard greens are devine and the stuffing and baked Mac and cheese are s made with love and good quality ingredients I will definly recommended Lizzie kitcken for a down home comfort soulnfood I will be back this week # fresh flavor seasoned with pride and love must try
I went to Ms Lizzie's today for breakfast with my Bestie and OMG, that shit was Delish!!!! The service and hospitality was impeccable !!! The place was clean and the staff were very pleasant!!! I had fish and grits ( they gave me a Choice between whiting or haddock) I chose haddock . Big piece of fish and it was NOT battered!!!! It was fried and seasoned to perfection!! This place is 5 generations Deep, in history !!! My Bestie got the one on one, ( one pancake, one piece of French toast, choice between grits or home fries, and eggs they had no problem with her substituting her order!!!! It was a Wonderful meal!! They also serve soul food and make soups fresh daily !!! You can order dinner OR Bkfst thru out the day!!!! Turkey Wings, she can't keep them,,,,,ppl order like 4 orders at a time !! This place is a Must!!!!!

Had the best fried haddock with yams and collard greens in a while. My wife and I decided to go and have Sunday lunch at Lizzie's and just take it easy not in any rush. That did help since she was by herself working that day taking phone, grub hub and table orders. I asked her you doing all this by yourself. She said "sometimes you have to when you own a mom & pops restaurant. It was worth the wait. The fried fish dinner was 2 nice size and perfectly fried pieces of Haddock with two sides. I had the yams and collard greens. My wife had the grits and Baked Mac & cheese. I recommend you try going back soon to try the fried chicken dinner next.
If you want some authentic soul food, you have to try out Ms. Lizzie's. It's set in a unique location, and the staff feel like family. Don't miss out on the incredible people and this real and good atmosphere. It was open when we arrived, and it feels like the perfect place for a party- it has the seats for it. I highly recommend this place. If you're in Albany, you're missing out if you've never been to Ms. Lizzy's.
